My redheaded better part, Sara, does a blog purely on running (although she totally veers from running quite a bit, but tattle tales aren't cool) whereas my blog will be about whatever the hell I want it to be. So let's get things rolling with a little bit of a background on what you can expect to see from me....
The breakdown of Matt Dean, Part I:
I grew up in Wisconsin as a child. Appleton to be exact. Don't ask me where that is by the way. My dad is Detroit born, so he's a natural badass that can shoot-on-sight. My mother is from Southern Indiana, so she's basically a natural redneck by birth. Most of my life I grew up in Cincinnati, which was an increasingly difficult city to spell...just behind Tennessee and Mississippi. Things looked like this:
Things seemed ok, except for the fact that telling someone you were from "Loveland, Ohio" was pretty stupid... |
Until when I grew up and realized everything wasn't pretty flowers and big houses, Cincinnati actually looks like this:
HIGHHHHWAYYY TOOOOO THEEEE DANGER ZONEEE. |
"On this day I declare Purdue University officially FUCKED!" |
So here I am after college...in the Windy City living the good life you think? I'm workin' on that, we'll get there. We now have a puppy named Waffles, and she is nothing short of outrageously cute.
I lied, she is actually a gift from a friend who happens to be a taxidermist. |
I love video games. Something I'm not proud of? In the past yes that's very very true. I was addicted to the lovely World of Warcraft, as some of you may recognize as a worldwide freaking drug. Since then it's been casual.
I love TV shows. Game of Thrones anyone? Mad Men? Those are my top dogs, but nothing can trump Top Gear (the British version IS THE ONLY VERSION). I do find it hard that once a season is finished to let it go and move on. It's like a tough breakup, you want to just come back and think it's alright to replay recent events without feeling guilty.
I love cars. It's simple and I don't need to explain this.
Well I believe that should be enough for day 1. I'm ending on a note as Sara sits here and argues with me that Con Air is better than Face/Off as a Nicholas Cage movie since she "has no idea what that movie is." Tomorrow look forward to some lists of stupid crap, or something of the sort.
Dean out.
I saw a link over on Sara's blog. You are offically my first male that I am following :)
